Oblivion is my favorite game of all time, but objectively Fallout New Vegas is the better game. If you prefer dystopian future and sci-fi then you should definitely pick up Fallout New Vegas first. If you like fantasy and magic Oblivion is the way to go. New Vegas has a much more interactive and seeming longer story than Oblivion also. Yeah I guess fo3 looks way better than new vegas tho maybe it’s just the colour pallets of the game f03 is a lot of green and greys where as fallout new vegas is a lot off browns oranges and yellows all like objectively ugly colours in New Vegas is the better game. It captures the same scale and freedom offered by Fallout 2, but with the focus and seriousness of Fallout 1. I always liked how obsidian offered more ending choices with New Vegas something that I think made it so great being able to have a legion run or a NCR run. In terms of quality, Bethesda's Fallout 4 is the clear forerunner and does a lot of things better than Fallout: New Vegas. The Fallout series is known for being innovative, interactive, and accessible to many gamers through use of great writing, gameplay, and overall atmosphere. I think Fallout 3 presented a better overall environment, but in terms of lore and staying genuinely occupied, New Vegas wins hands down. Imagine if Bethesda built the Vegas strip. Imagine if Bethesda gave the new Vegas devs the same budget and engine improvements that fallout 4 had, this is like comparing a car from 60 years ago with a car made today.
